Background

An important and recognisable local landmark, Ogden’s Tabacco Factory had been left vacant after operations ceased in 2007. A historic building, with over 100 years of history, Torus Developments worked hard to build a new future for the site and create a scheme that met the current and future needs of the local community.

Working with the fabric of communities and repurposing existing local landmarks to create unique housing developments saw us lead on the regeneration of the Grade II listed building and build 19 apartments and 13 new build homes – all of which were affordable – in order to create the first scheme of its type built by Torus.

Now the blueprint for a number of sensitive redevelopments Torus Developments invests in, Ogden’s showed the potential of repurposing and reusing buildings and spearheaded the way for several subsequent schemes such as Station Mews.
